Founder and Executive Director
Akua Natasha, born to Ghanaian parents in New York, USA, and raised in North Carolina, fulfilled her dream of becoming a registered nurse in 2015, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University.
Her journey with nonprofits began in 2019 when she moved to Ghana. Volunteering at places like Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, she assisted mothers of children with delayed development. Leveraging her skills as a Registered Nurse, she has been conducting ongoing free community health screenings in Ghana to continue breaking down barriers to quality healthcare.
Founded in 2021, HEAL Homecare Advocacy Foundation was born out of the necessity to assist caregivers of children with cerebral palsy, as well as vulnerable women and girls in Ghana.
Akua Natasha envisions a nurturing space providing continuous support through case management, essential resources for eligible participants, and a strong community. Recognized as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, HEAL is dedicated to making a lasting impact in Ghana.
Robert Sowa is a dedicated Physical Therapist currently leading as the Head of the Therapy Department at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana. With prestigious fellowships from the American Society of Hand Therapists and the American Association for Hand Surgery, he brings extensive expertise to our organization. Serving as the board chairman since 2021, Robert has been instrumental in guiding our initiatives.
Samantha Akwei is not only a passionate athlete and fitness enthusiast but also a valued member of the community. She contributes her expertise as a member of the ForbesBLK Local Advisory Council and as the Curator of the Global Shapers Oakland hub in California, USA. Samantha generously volunteers her time and skills by offering free fitness exercises and education for women and girls at our annual women’s health programs.
